A native of Westchester County, New York, Daniel O’Connell received his undergraduate education from Amherst College, where he graduated with honors, and his legal education at New York University School of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree.

In addition to specialized skills in advising investment companies and publishers, Mr. O’Connell has a wide range of experience in copyright and trademark registration, real estate and zoning law, wills, trusts and estate administration, formation and dissolution of business corporations and other business entities, and commercial real estate leasing and management. Prior to opening his own legal practice in 1998, Mr. O’Connell was Vice President and General Counsel for Springhouse Corporation, a publishing affiliate of the Reed Elsevier group of international publishing companies, and served as Vice President and General Counsel to PRO Services, Inc., a registered investment advisor to the PRO group of mutual funds.

Mr. O’Connell has incorporated and obtained IRS tax exempt recognition for numerous charitable organizations, and currently serves on the boards of directors and as General Counsel to prominent foundations in Southeastern Pennsylvania. He is active in community and civic affairs, having served two terms as President of North Wales Borough Council, Chairman of the North Wales Zoning Hearing Board, President of the North Wales Memorial Free Library, and Republican Committeeman of North Wales.

For over 32 years, Mr. O’Connell has practiced law in Pennsylvania, and since 1996 has been engaged in the private practice of law from his offices in North Wales, Pennsylvania, where he resides with his wife, Donna L. Mengel, and their seven children.
